I remember when Sq 1 was using that ALF and for a short time the Seagrave spare squad. Needless to say they were happy when that was over.

Kind of a historical shot E278 with its initial assignment to Truck 17. It wouldn't fit in their firehouse and was never assigned. It was later assigned to Truck 3 and currently Truck 9.

If this rig was used when the '96 HME/Saulsbury had been wrecked then they used it and other reserves until receiving their '00 HME/Central States correct? I say that because the '96 HME/Saulsbury was assigned to Haz Mat 5-1-1A when it returned correct?

Corrections welcome and thanks in advance.

Any chance the Seagrave for T17 that went to T03 was at T32 before landing with T09 currently?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you are correct that other spare's were used in addition to the ALF. The '96 Saulsbury returned to service in late '99 as Squad 1 and served their until the current Squad 1 apparatus were placed in service during spring/summer 2000. It was then moved to 511A.

Hey Larry,

I believe E 276 was the only '96 Seagrave assigned to Truck 32. I could be wrong though...

Thanks for info. As for T32, any chance they went straight from their '88 Ford C/Pirsch 100' rear mount to their current Pierce Dash 100' rear mount?

No, Truck 32 got E-276 (Seagrave) in '96. I believe they kept it up until 2002 when the Pierce's were placed in service.

Simply awesome. I was hoping someone would finally do another color book on Chicago, one of the best cities ever for fire apparatus manufacturer variety. You have the best images I've seen other than those of Bill Friedrich, and it would be a shame not to share them. Thanks.
