Is there a Chicago connection w/ the Federal Heights FD? Black roofs and the Green warning light up front (on some of their rigs) is a bit unusual for a Colorado department. Putting aside that black roofs are common today.

The rigs had been school bus yellow and he convinced them to go Chicago style. Two other departments along the front range have moved to Black over Red, Mountain View Fire District and the Wescott Fire District. One of Westcott chiefs came from MD so he added a roto-ray and powercall to their pumper.
Thanks for the information.

I had the privilege of meeting him several times on my trips thru Denver in the early '90's.
