Anymore pictures of the R-Model Rescue Squad 14?

That was a good looking unit. Almost looks like the Ex-Rescue Squad 504 from Prince William.

Any idea where it went?

I've always said the same thing T20. Squad 4 (Gainesville) and Squad 14 were VERY close in color, body style and appearance. I know I have seen other Squad 14 photos. I may have some in my files. I'll try and dig one up for you.

Stay tuned.

Here ya go brother. Credit to the original photographer. I could be wrong but I believe this photo was taken by the late Wes Gerald - aka "Photo 410"

Squad 14 - as good as a Squad can get!

And here's a photo I took of former Rescue Squad 4 (504) at a first due 3 Alarm fire in Fall, 2008. It now runs as the B Squad.

I believe Burke's Mack-3-D rescue went somewhere in St. Mary's County MD

In the FYI department here is the rig that replaced the Mack Squad 4. Photo taken by me at the same 4 Box 3-alarm fire in 2008.

Quote:Interesting, because it was presented to us by the sales rep as $1,005 on top of the grille - i.e. we were getting the silver grille in the price of the truck, flag paint another grand more. Oh well, but would have been nice to know that at the time to really eval the cost.

At the time we spec'd our engine with the grille flag, I asked about the cost of matching grilles for our older rigs. Pierce won't sell just the painted mesh sections, you have to buy a complete grille assembly. We were told that they run about a grand each. Every item on a Pierce rig is priced separately. When they bid a rig, they add up all the prices called for in the spec. If you opt for the flag grille, they charge you for it and not the plain grille.

Unfortunately, we were unable to get the funds for the flag grilles for the older rigs. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

Burke's Mack went to St. Leonard in Calvert Co., MD with a new white and blue paint job. Thhe Mack was replaced in 1999 by a Peterbilt / Rescue Master until that was recked a couple of years ago. Do not know where the Mack went.

Thanks for the pictures Good2Go.

Both Macks look great. Hopefully someone will see this and post a picture of Burke's after it changed to white at St. Leonard. Speaking of R-Models, Rockville Md has theirs up for sale in the Pennsylvania Fireman Magazine. That unit has seen a lot of work through the years, but still looks good. I also didn't realize that Gainsville still had theirs. I few months back Rescue 504 (the Pierce) was out of service, and they were looking arouund for a Reserve. I believe they were running Rescue 508 from Yorkshire for a while.

Hopefully their Mack is still around. They don't make them like that anymore!

NICE!!!

Yeh, I was wondering where Mount Airy's went. That unit was still in great shape when it left Carroll County.

New Market Va (Company 23) was also running a R-Model. Can't remember the manufacture of the body, but it was also in good shape.

Thanks to all for the pictures.

Just an Update on the New Engines. I was Down at Singer today and they had Engines 27 and 9 sitting inside the shop bay, and they said that Engine 15 is up at one of the county shops now. They said the other 3 engines (35, 38, & 39) are going to be delivered on Monday about noon time.

I saw Mt Airey's Mack "R" sitting in Hampton Va Station 1 back in July 2008. It was lettered up for them and as Rescue 1. Surprised me! On New Market's, Mack "R" that body was a '71 Bruco ex DCFD re-chassis. Came from S-607 that as I have it ran as RS 2, RS 4, the Haz-Mat Unit and lastly reserve before going to New Market about 1993. Corrections welcome.

Anybody from this site or from Fairfax have any info on those 111 bus mirrors that have been showing up on recent apparatus in fairfax. Heard there may be some stuff going on to possibly change things up a bit.
