There were MUD drills going on that day. The first rotation was in the fourth battalion and the second rotation was in the first battalion. While we were at FS408 T410 and M410 were filling in with us and then we filled in at FS425 with M425, T425 and R421. Hope this helps.
FYI, I recently found out the Saber from Springfield went to Thoroughfare VFD in Goldsboro,NC.

I seen it last week and it is now all red but I could find no one around the station.Their neighbors have Coles District's old Spartan/Saulsbury-Grantham I believe is the name of that company.

Since the Fairfax thread resurfaced, here is an update on R421. The frame is warped from the rear axle back and support pieces are cracked. This is from stress and twisting. Must be that hard right turn onto Rt 50. This is being taken care of through the warranty. There are minor paint peels and stuff also on their list. R421 was to return mid-July. As of now, mid-August is more realistic.

Many of yins heard the vols are specing out a new engine to replace the Lance. I haven't heard which manufactures have submitted anything yet. Still a long way off, but I will be the first to post pics.

E22B & E14B fill stations throughout the county with crews from several vol stations whenever they can.

I am sure there are a whole list of reasons but since the Velocity is sort of the apples to apples or the apples to appleorange replacement they have the Velocity. The conversations I have heard is they like the Velocity, don't expect any switches anytime soon.
Well supposedly T29 and E32 are the last to be ordered with the fugly mirrors, surprised no one has put that scoop on here yet. So hopefully we can keep chipping away, until the powers that be see the light. And never mind the fact we have 5 bastard apparatus that have to endure the next few years dealing with a bad idea that should have never been allowed to happen.

I was told by a friend today, who talked to the sales manager at Singer's that Fairfax is going to be getting 6 more of the Velocity engines. Not sure when they will be in though, must have been a pretty recent order.

I had a recent conversation and the talk of more Velocity Engines came up. FFX County still has a number I can't remember what the number quoted to me was, of E-Ones still in front line service and they were anticipating replacing them soon. I didn't post the information at the time as it was still not official.

Expect a possible change in R414's quarters in the very near future. Either the TROT team will be moved to 427 or 435, maby 432.

Good call there Roto-Ray. I'm from PA and haven't cut all my roots yet. I don't like Y'all !

My conversation with a Singer sales rep told me there are 6 more Velocity engines and a rescue coming to the county. The six should replace the remaining E-Ones. The rescue may go to 14, but there is a possiblity of that being disbanded or moved. No talks of cutting anymore companies. R439, North Point, was rumored to move to FS4, Herndon, with their new station. However, budget cuts put that on hold along with the renovation of FS21. The monies are going to rebuilding FS12.

Note to Roto-Ray. They are assembled about 2 miles from my house in an attachment to the guys garage. Been there several times. He is now making LEDs with a smaller bulb for the new lighting systems.

I've wanted to do a Roto-Ray article for the Virginia Fire News, I might have to get you to hook me up with him. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Talked to one of the guys from Singer today at Firehouse Expo, I was told 7 Velocities plus the new rescue? I may have misheard. There are only 6 Frontline E-Ones Engines left which are: Engine 409, Engine 415, Engine 427, Engine Engine 435, Engine 438, and Engine 439, so this last batch will replace the last of the E-Ones. Is it possible if I did hear right that we could be getting a new training engine (again)? He said that this bunch would be in in about 7-8 months at least. So look for them down the road.

Also, he did say that the new Rescue will be Replacing Rescue 414, but will not be at FS14. It will either go to FS27 or FS35. He said that the Volunteers have said they do not have any intrest of ordering a new Rescue. He said that they were leaning toward putting the new Rescue at FS35 because there is more room in the bay, plus it has the best access out via the Parkway. Evidently he said that the Burke Volunteers are pretty unhappy having the Red TROT Trailer there and they want it gone ASAP.

He did confirm that the New HAZMAT Support is on the way, as well.

Engine 438,

Thanks for the update and rundown on who is still running E-ones, I thought the number was down to 6 but I wasn't 100%.
