Finally found a photo of "The Colonel" Costello Robinson behind the wheel of DCFD S-101, 1996 E\-One Cyclone.

Rest in Peace Colonel, we're still on watch protecting the city that you loved so dearly.

As you see in the Photo The Colonel is doing his world famous laugh." WEE HEHEHEHE"

I had the honor of having him help me in probatioon and the Privlage of riding the front seat with him driving me to Fires.

Rest in Peace Colonel.

Several years ago in a former administration, some faction in the geographic Golden Triangle business district received permission from the water authority to paint city hydrants and, I believe, trash boxes. The traditional colors for hydrants in DC are green (standard) and white. White indicates hydrants in areas with poor drainage and are not to be used unless necessary.

The short-lived yellow hydrants are being repainted to green. Get your pix now for posterity. Tip o' the hat to water expert Lt. Sean Egan (Car 10) for the info.

I saw CSU 3 on Rt 100 in Glen Burnie the other morning, heading towards 295 S. Is there any reason why this particular unit didn't have any Patches or logos on it. They have been removed, it's just a Red PU with White Stripes now.

The CSU's decals didn't cure well enough to the paint, and the extensive use they got in the blizzard exposed them to amazing amounts of road salt and road spray. They quickly started peeling away in the spring sun, and looked terrible. The crews have since totally removed the decals and (mostly) buffed out the paint. Also, the Fire/EMS logo was the prototype of our new/old patch, and has since been revised a little. They are awaiting new decals at this time.

Anyone have any info on the latest orders of rigs for DCFD? I have heard that Pierce has won the bid this time around (makes me sad). Anyone know if this is true?

I haven't heard if the order has been placed yet or not. From what I have heard 5 engines and 2 rescues in the near future. Seagrave did not bid.

I could be wrong, but from what I heard Seagrave was a no bid.

I noticed tonight that CSU 1 is parked at Station 13 in Anne Arundel County. I need to go by there tomorrow to get a picture. Not sure why it has been parked there.

Nor did they bid on Dale City's new Rescue (510).
