This is the spec that all the new SMFR Engines will generally follow. Outlaying companies will have 1,000 gallon tanks and city engines will keep their 750. This is only the second new rig with number decals instead of the removable plexi numbers. The painted bumper with recessed Q-Siren is unique to this engine from the one placed in service earlier in the year. Per the chief of fleet services, a chrome or painted bumper will be the choice of the company from this point on.
For 2014 - A new Engine with this spec will go to Engine 42. A new Pierce Velocity mid-mount tower ladder is going to Tower 32. A Ford F-550 / Oshkosh Stinger is going to Red 2 at Firehouse 35. Two new Ford / PL custom medic units and a Type 3 wildland engine are also approved.
