While this is may not be the exact reason the white over red Spartan Saulsbury wasn't the first White over Red Haz Mat Truck.The very first HazMat Truck on the CFD was an Old Mack/Platt Flying Squad Truck from the early 70's that was repainted White over Red in the mid 80's and that was our First Hazmat Unit.Apparently the CFD decided to go back to the Traditiona CFD Clors for the Haz Mat Trucks when the two new American La Frances were delivered.I personally think that they may have wanted to the HazMat Rigs to stand out as different so they could readily be identified.Thats speculation on my part however.
