[quote name='derry86' post='137485' date='Aug 6 2007, 19:50 ']Question about DC Hoseloads and hydraulics. Where I work, for the long stretches, we use 2 1/2" and attach 1 3/4 as needed. It sounds like you DC folks have a system down with this long line.
Question is: Why not use a 2 1/2 leader on it to reduce friction loss? Is it because 2 1/2 can be a pain to move?
I hope this comes across right, I am just trying to understand/learn.
Thanks!!

Our 21/2's are made up as attack lines. Some companies have made up a leader line for their respective Local Alarm Districts. As for the long lines yes We got it down . Ya know If it ain't broke don't fix it. Thats why we still use 11/2 and 3" supply lines. You came accross right . It's just a DC Thing.
