Two winter storms hit the District of Columbia in quick succession dumping, first, 24”, then 15” more – a total of 55” for the year so far. This is the most snow since the Winter of 1898-1899.
Scenes like this were common as apparatus was getting stuck and dug out on upwards of 50-per cent of all runs in some parts of town. February 6, 2010
