As for the the fork lift, to the best of my understanding, it will be used primarily for hazardous materials incidents. The unit does have different attachments for the front to allow it to perform other needs as well.
In regards to 5-7-8, this unit has been with the Chicago Fire Department for just about ever since I can remember. I believe it originally served as 5-11A and then was bumped around for various other uses, including EMS. As of recently, it has been repainted and lettered for Special Operations. I believe that it is nothing more than an equipment truck though.
