No that's actually a very good question Larry. Truck 6 however was always a "Downtown company".They were put in service on January 1st 1875 at 218 s Franklin with Engine company 1 and were relocated to a "new firestation at 119 n Franklin on May 7 1887 with "new" Engine company 40 were they stayed until August 1st 1963 when both Truck 6 and Engine 40 were taken out of service and the fire station was closed. Forty years, seven months and seven days later on March 8 2004 Truck 6 was put back in service at Engine 13's station at 259 n Columbus drive. Truck 6 in effect had replaced Engine 100 which had been taken out of service on the same day and which was located only about 2 and a half blocks south of Engine 63's and Truck 16's new station that had been opened in December of 2003.
Truck 12 which was only out of service for about 13 years had in effect replaced Engine 61 when Engine 84 and Truck 51 had moved into their new fire station only about 5 and a half blocks south of Engine 61's house. On that day Engine 61 was taken out of service.
