1982 Mack CF LTI Tiller (ex Downey, CA)

This truck just joined the family officially over the weekend, after running since day 1 out of Downey, California's Station 1. (The original factory photo is posted here, over in the tiller pics, even.) 27 years since it went in service, she still chugged the 220 miles home along Interstate 5 like a champ despite it being seemingly all uphill and toasty outside (mid to high 90s on the thermometer). A fun drive, and hardly any sunburn at all. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



The quasi-modernization retrofit is planned for the fall, to include new decals, reflective striping, replacing the strobes with LED warning lights (per current NFPA zone lighting) and re-loading equipment that would be found on such an apparatus.
