Abington got rid of this truck in a short time.

Any reason why?

My god, I remember the three of these like it was yesterday. My father was the Chief Engineer at Relief, I can still remember him wheeling this truck to calls. All three were very fast and all three ran into problems. The Red One was the busiest of the 3, it ran its balls off but each one fell apart.

I'm not sure about the rig originally posted by Frank, but here is the actual Imperial I-588, a 1972 D-12 that was delivered to Forest City, FL. This photo was taken last week. The Forest City FD was absorbed into the Seminole County FD in 1974. The Imperial was delivered red, then repainted white/lime yellow, but later returned to red. It is maintained by the Seminole County FD as a parade rig and stored at the Training Center.

This would be from Dorion, Quebec not Whitby (maybe the photo was taken in Whitby?) which I believe is now the Vaudreuil-Dorion Fire Dept.

This one is actually a Pierreville Imperial from Dorion, Quebec (a suburb of Montreal)

[/quote]Updated information: This is the Pierreville Imperial from Whitby that was sold to Dorion and was then absorbed into the Vaudreuil-Dorion Fire Department when the two towns merged.

If it has not been reported in this thread yet, the 1971 1000/500 from Rockledge Pa. is now privately owned by a member of the Rockledge Fire Company.
