I just spoke with Dick Singer tonight, and the Alexandria tiller will be delivered in June. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jerry. I think the complete date is scheduled as June 26 so it will be the end of the month. I will get it when I am back in October. Though hopefully someone can get some shots prior to October. I am going to see if I can talk John Degenhardt into shooting it when he is here in DC in August for IFBA.

Alexandria is moving forward with Station 210 down in the Eisenhower Valley, I believe on the site of the current impound lot.

I just checked the 2010 approved CIP budget and Station 210 is included in the 5 year CIP with a scheduled start of construction sometime in FY 2011.
Last I heard Station 209 is still on track to open sometime this year.

The Alexandria City Council is being asked to approve an application for fire station construction funding under the Federal stimulus bill. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has $210 million in grants available for fire station construction grants. Alexandria is applying for funding for new Station 210 in the Eisenhower Valley on the current city impound lot and for reconstruction of current Station 203 on its current site with the addition of a third bay for a new medic unit. It is expected to be a very competitive grant program. Maximum grant award is up to $5 million per station. FEMA must award all grants by Sept 30, 2010. Communities have 36 months after award of grant to complete the facility.

There is no local match required, however, as with most grant programs, a committment of funds from a community usually scores better in the grant process.
