The dangers of playing with homemade explosives. Quite a response though. Great Shots.
People complaining about spam in the spam mail box... Huh, what'll they think of next?
Well, someone correct me if I am wrong but a full box assignment in any of the NOVA jurisdictions is 4 engines, 2 ladders, 2 rescue squad, two battalion chiefs, and sometimes a medic unit and EMS supervisor. They know how to get alot of manpower on scene quickly.

Yorkshire was moved to cover Centreville's Station 17 (just down Rt 28 from Yorkshire) and then called to the scene.
Matt - What a response! Nine engines, three ladders, Rsq, IC, fire marshall.
How was it called in to get that many pieces on the scene? Or was it escalated by the first arriving units? Good to see Centreville as the first and last pix. Phil, Bklyn.
Oups that was a typo, I meant 1 rescue squad. I thought it was 2 EMS sups and 1 medic/amb but they may have recently changed. In any regard more on a box response than most departments across the country. One of the reasons I liked living in Alexandria.

NOVA Box alarms vary a little depending on the structure.
Townhouses, strip malls and high rises will get an additional "Special Service" that being a truck or a heavy rescue and in some areas of Fairfax an engine runs with a tanker. For a single family like this the run down is: 4 Engines 2 Trucks 1 Rescue 1 medic 1 battalion 1 EMS Supervisor 1 Duty Fire Marshall Some jurisdictions like Fairfax and Arlington will add a Safety Officer.
Nice pics.
Do you know what units were on the scene of this fire? Thanks
Heres a few more from another day in fairfax.

Here are some pics of the new Mack tankers that I took at Singers Gainesville shop this week. One is going to station 41 (Crosspoint) and the other is for 16 (Clifton). Sorry they are not from the greatest angles but several other units parked around them made it difficult to get good shots.
