Denver Metro Fire Apparatus
Anyone have pics from some of the smaller Denver area departments like Georgetown? How about some further south like Cripple Creek and Victor? Thanks.

I don't know about you, but I hate this rig. The configuration is just strange...Amber/Red front warning lights, 4 siren speakers and no Q. The Apparatus Committee must've been on vacation when they designed this one. It doesn't match anything DFD has bought before or after...

I have a few old ones from the late 90's...



Blackhawk Engine 3 - Spartan/Ferrara (no GPM/GWT specs - sorry)

   



Blackhawk Engine 5 - HME/Westates - This rig was probably an add-on to the California OES purchase about the same time (97/98-ish).

I think they are all 1000gpm/800gwt

   



Blackhawk Rescue 4 - Ford F350/Becker

   



Blackhawk Truck 7 - Spartan/Smeal (not sure on the bodywork, though)

I don't have any apparatus photos for Cripple Creek or Victor, but here are a couple from Clear Creek County (Georgetown, etc...).

Tower 27 and Tower 9 are both very similar units, with TW-27 being the most similar unit to 1's

Like SFD (or should it be DFD now?) said, Tower 27 is a nearly sister rig with the same style lightbar but less amber on theirs for some reason. I asked about the sirens on Tower 1 this summer and some of the crews actually like it better since they can flip a switch and be done. A handfull of DFD rigs only have the Q control on the officer side adding to their already long list of things to do while enroute.



TR1, TR27, E14, E21, E22, E24 & E25 only have electronic sirens with no Q. Out of those, all but 14 & 22 have the 4 speaker configuration. Engine 21's point directly to the side which blows out the ears of anyone on the sidewalk. Their station sits within one of Denver's most popular parks so you get a lot of nasty looks when you drive though running hot.

I was in the back of it over ths summer and there has been very little change. The only upgrades have been to the actual hardware, ACU 1000's and radios in the back. It's no longer housed at 21's and I haven't seen where it lives now... I'm guessing it might be kept at the shops.

The last time I was out that way was in the late 1990's and I remember Victor had a pair of ALF 900 pumpers sitting out back of the station. They had just been replaced by one newer pumper.

I remember that Silver Plume had an all white ALF Pioneer pumper that was sitting in front of the Georgetown station when I visited the area back around 1992.

Most of the beds have tight covers but here's a shot of Engine 7's. The Humat Valve and hose clamps are used for pretty much every hydrant lay. A few companies (Engine's 3, 5, 21, 28 and I think 27) all carry 5 inch supply line for large fire.
