The 5" companies in Denver are Engines 3, 5, 12, 14, and 28 which cover District's 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Here is a photo of a typical DFD Pumpers hosebed. 300' of pre-connected 1 3/4", 900' of 3" supply in a reverse lay, 1100' 3" supply in a forward lay, and a 200' pre-connected 1 3/4". Sampsons, Reel, and a Humat valve.

So is E36 the ex Sheridan E51? Is it running from Sheridan Sta 51 or 52? And what came of the Quint and Medic at 52?

Thanks! There are rumors flying that Denver & Englewood have been talking but I haven't heard anything official. The DFD has 3 new houses planned on their own which will be keeping them busy.

E36 is the ex Sheridan E52 and running out of the former Station 52 at Federal & Oxford. Quint 52 & Medic 52 were both sold, and last I heard Medic 51 is going to be used by the DFD for Decon or Hazmat. Station 51 on Hamilton Place is City owned and being used for storage, the DFD is not using it for anyting.

As always, awesome pix, whats the deal with the 3" hose on the front bumper on E-36? Dont see a front intake or discharge.

SFD Probie can confirm, but my understanding is that its up to the individual company to do what they want with their bumpers. My guess is around 1/3 of the Engines have line on the front with no connections to the rig. The majority are laid out like E36, but if you look at Page 26 of this thread you can see some different ways. In addition to the pumpers, Tower 1 and I think Truck 8 also carry extra line on their bumpers for high rise ops.

I would agree that it is up to the individual company as to how they use their bumper. My current assignment has 300' of 2 1/2" with stack tips on the front bumper. Some crews will switch the stack tips out for either an 1 1/8" or 1 1/4" tip.
