The story is that the Macks came in with Air Brakes and they were speced with Hyd Brakes. The Shop made Mack change them all over to Hyd Brakes and we never ordered or considered Macks again.

At least that is what I was toldBanghead

A large part of my collection was purchased from a GOOD man, John Floyd. I give him FULL credit on his work, although I may miss something. Thanks John. Also Scott Mattson, Warren Jenkins, Michael Schwartzberg, and Mike Sanders. Thanks Guys.

Can anyone tell me if any of the DCFD ALF tiller trucks of this era were repainted into the white with stars and stripes color scheme that DCFD used?

I would figure there was some type of politics involved, or another vendor offered a better deal. But the subject of juice vs. air is a familiar one. Thanks for the concern!

The specs call for juice and Mack supplied the rigs with air, from what the older guys have said. That one thing stopped DCFD from buying Macks again.

I think I remember seeing one painted like that, but I might be wrong.

Three American LaFrance Series 1000 ladder trucks were delivered in 1973 – 74. These diesels were the first ALF trucks ordered since the 1940s. Assignments were to Truck Companies 6, 7, and 8. Truck 7 (S-363) was the only one of the eight American LaFrance Tillers purchased in the era 1973 - 1980 to be repainted.

6 Pierce Engines

2 Pierce Squads

1 Oshkosh Stryker for Foam 1

All should be nearing completion, I'm told.

2 Brand New Seagrave Marauder II Tractor Drawn Aerials

2 Brand New Seagrave Marauder II Tractors with Refurbished Seagrave Trailers.

My sources at Seagrave told me that the first one should be done in time for FDIC.
