OC's 1953 Ford F/American 500/500 as it appeared in 1992,almost 10 years after its 1st refurbishment in 1983. The misfortune in 2002 is still 10 years in the future.

Alexis rigs are rare on the East Coast and OC's 2 may be the only examples in the State of Maryland.

That station is the Dorchester Street station. Engine 9 was located there due to it being smaller an able to drive on the wooden boardwalk. Engine 9 is the Ford F-800/Pierce that has a 1,000 gpm pump on it. An earlier post says that Engine 12 is now located there.

Any of the trucks can be taken onto the boardwalk. Alot of them were on it for the last big fire 3 summers ago.

Normal station set up is one engine, and 2-3 medic units depending on city needs and storage. Station 2 is basicaly storage as well. If there are extra units or trucks

728 is 2009 (pretty sure, it was brand new when i worked there that summer, it didnt even have lettering on it yet) dodge. Its your basic stock minivan, no pump or tank



Trucks can move from station to station at any time and any reason, for maintnance (done at HQ), special needs or staffing. Keep in mind until 5 is built and the trucks are moved back into it, the set up wont be normal city wide until then.



KME could be for any of the trucks. the E ones are coming up on 15 or so years, so its hard to say right now.

Both have a lot of life left. I'd imagine the Pierce/Snorkel is due to go.



When I took pictures of the KME Engines this year, the career guys said numerous replacements were in the works from possibly KME including a new Tower, Rescue, Tanker, and Engine.

Yea i worked for career division for a year.



I know they got a grant or some set up for a new tanker. To be honnost, any piece in that city (except the new engines) could be replaced with jusification.

Some info from the Marschalk photo posted by Doc. As I also have that in my collection and am an OC local heres what I can tell ya'll. Thats the previous Dorchester St house built in 1928 and razed for the current building on same site in 1991. It served as the company HQ until 1980. I have (as I shot it back in 1974) as do a few others out there one of the 15th Street house back when it was a one-story affair. Will scan and post.



Back to Dorchester St. In the bays from left to right are E3 '41 Ford, ALF 500/400 E5 '53 Ford, American 750/400 and E6 '49 Ford, ALF 500/400. Yes the '53 Ford, American was originally E5! Never have and I've asked gotten an answer as to why and when it became E8. It came along at a time when it seems the fleet was being numbered downward from 6, 5, 4 etc. Then in '59 came a new Ford, American as E9. Any input here is welcome.



I keep a roster up on OCFD available at the following [url="http://RustysFireRosters.com"]link[/url]. Yes things move around often and I have yet to confirm a tanker at Station 2 but it's of course possible with the new Station 5 underway. Most of that apps is in the adjacent public works garage. E9 that used to be at 2 is now at HQ in the back. It and E12 are often rumored for replacement. So is E2 the Arrow but understand it is well liked. The oldest in the aerial fleet is of course Snorkel 11 still sporting its original what is it '65 Pitman boom.
