[Image: DSC00129.jpg][/quote]

That was Classic Division 7 not Battalion 7.In the days of those 70's vintage Dodge Sedans only the Division Marshalls and the Deputy Marshalls ran with Sedans. The Battalion Chiefs in the 70's and very early 80's all ran with Station Wagons. The CFD also had the same vintage Dodges as Station Wagons for the Battalion Chiefs. In the mid and late 70's the Battalion Chiefs switched to Suburbans and after 1983 to went to Sedans.

Chicago's Battalion Chiefs had been using station wagons since 1958 when the late Fire Commissioner Robert J Quinn had them switch over from using Sedans.THe idea behind it was that the Battalion Chiefs could act as ambulances if there weren't any regular Fire Department Ambulances available in an area.

Even though the Battalion Chiefs had responded as secondary ambulance's (on accidents with injuries) for over 20 years, they weren't equipped with oxygen or resusistators until after 1967 when our Old Squad company's were taken out of service.

The 7 Divisions were taken out of service in 1980 and were replaced with our current District system with one (8 hour day District commander) and 3 Deputy District "platoon" or shift commanders per district.

This is also not an original CFD engine. It was restored about 15 years ago. It was previously a Skokie rig.

No if you look very carefully engine 4 has a dalmation and since engine 3 doesn't I would think it was not spec'd with one so they couldn't be twins. <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/lol.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol2:' />
