The Rescue running in their spare

Thanks to a tip from SFDProbie, I got some shots of a few old rigs at a local junk yard.

DFD ran a few of these so it's tough to say who's it was without a closer look

DFD ran several of these Seagrave mid-mounts bought between 1964-1967, tough to say which one it is... Although I venture to guess that this might be old Truck 6. It was one of the "newest" of this type of aerial and was missing the additional compartments added by the DFD shops above the rear wheels.

This last one I'm not sure about... I assume it came from the Denver area but not sure who would have used black & red (with caged windows) on an ARFF rig. Maybe a dept. of corrections unit?

I looked through all my DFD photos, and this is the only mid-80's rehabbed Seagrave that I can find. Pumper 6 ran one for years, but as far as I know, it never had a rehab, or at least never had the cab fully enclosed.

DFD had several earlier rehabbed Seagrave rigs (25's, for example) with the narrower cab, but I don't see any other ones.

So, I would say that this was likely Pumper 9's rig. The only thing missing is the flag behind the front door. They must've removed the Q before sending it to auction, too.

I'd love to have one of those Seagrave aerials... The second one looks like it was one of the taller cab, early-mid 60's models (Truck 1, maybe?). [/size]

I thought Denver didn't run bumper lines?

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.

Most of the current front line pumpers on the DFD have the provision for an 1 3/4" line off the bumper. Some companies have chosen to utilize 2 1/2" off the front bumper instead.
