I was told this morning that they do indeed have a pair of KME pumpers on order. You'd think the local KME dealer (Antietam Fire Apparatus) would have publicized this order by now. They haven't posted anything on their website and there has been nothing in the Maryland Fire Dispatch about it which I find a bit odd.

The career staff are on the ambulances and staff one paramedic engine at station 3. If there is a fire in the box area (1-4) and no volunteers are avaiable then the career staff takes the engine. For example box area 1 (hq) the career staff would take engine 3. Same with area 4, however engine 12 blew up. Box area 3 has the paramedic engine which goes on every fire alarm in the city.

I was down in OC last week, besides for my 6 year old son busting his arm in two places on the beach on Tuesday because he fell in a hole his two wizards for brothers dug, it was a good week.

first rig is Berlin's new tanker. the serial number plate on the pump panel has a completion date of Feb, 2011.

while I was going back to the hotel in West Ocean City, there was a very heavy odor of gasoline on Rt. 50, so I decided to go back to Sta. 5 to see if anyone was around if a call would come in. sure enough, as I got there they got dispatched, and the rescue went on the call. went back to the hotel and came back an hour later and finally, after 5 years of trying, I got the rigs in that house! we'll start with the oldest, its a beauty. i know its lettered E8, but it used to be E5 and they still call it that, so thats how I carry it.

next up is an interesting one. its Snorkel 711. I see here that the snorkel is originally off the 65 Ford, remounted on a 1983 Pierce Arrow Chassis. it carries Pierce serial F-0810. does anyone know why it also has a duplex serial number tag and plate?
