This is great stuff!! Thanks for posting!! Question: Did Franconia's Mack/Baker tower ever have a pump/tank? I have a slide marked 250/150, but there isn't anything visible on it, just like the photo above. Thanks in advance.
Shoop, I have it with a 250/150, and also that this was one of the first tandem rear axle aerialscopes. It was told to me that one reason for the tandem rear axle was because of the additional weight of the pump/tank. Mike Sanders Winchester, VA

WASN'T THIS THE ONE THAT WENT TO REMINGTON IN FAQUIER COUNTY VIRGINIA
Dave, it was. In addition, the two light and air units were originally engines. Light Unit 9 was originally a Ford F/Oren from Penn Daw. Not exactly sure about Light Unit 13. Also, not sure about who did the work in converting these from engines to light units. I have heard county shops and also Oren. Would love to know if anyone has additional information. After light unit 13 went to Remington, it was sold to a private collector in Maryland. I believe it was to be converted (if not already) back into an engine. Mike Sanders Winchester, VA
