Those bays on the rear of the firehouse running the opposite direction as the main bay doors are they full length or one vehicle deep and what is stored in them. I've never seen the station from the rea and always figured it was just three bays

The 1 Bay has their Technical Rescue Support Unit in it which is basically a Ford F350/450 with a long 5th wheel trailer full of assorted stuff. I cant remember whats in the other.

This section was added a few years after original construction. You're right Tim, the TROT truck and trailer are in the drivethrough bay closest to the station. The outside bay is a half bay with the vol owned reserve ambulance. Improvments will make this a drivethrough. Both have gear lockers along the walls.

Durring construction, the TROT truck runs from the medic bay in the left front. M421 & A421 park back to back and run from the back drivethrough.

To add to Bruce's response.

When we moved into the station the Cave-In Unit was stored outside where the addition was built. There was not enough room to get two pumpers, squad, two band-aid boxes, brush unit, BC vehicle, and the Cave-In under cover. The ladder truck that styaed foe a couple of years just added to the overcrowding. The tiller truck with the BC backed in behind required one to litteraly climb over the Seagrave to go from the east to the west side of the station when the bay doors were closed. The addition was nice to have but, was poorly layed out, only one drive through bay and barely enough gear storage space. The bays had to angled so that the Cave-In Unit could make the turn onto the service rould without climbing over the curb. Bruce are they going to expand the area around the fuel pumps ? It was/is reall pain in the a$$ to get to get a ladder truck around the corner when getting fuel.

I had an opportunity to spend some time in the far north part of the county today. As you can see from the earlier pictures the addition at 421 is coming along nicely.



Went by 412 and the station looked great. They are pretty far along. Didn't have my camera because it was suppose to be an overcast day. I will stop back before I leave and get some pictures from across the street.



On the way back drove past the site for the Wolftrap Station, 442. They are moving dirt and looked like they had a hole in the ground. I will also get some pictures before I do. Thats all for updates from Northern FFX Co.

No mean to rain on your parade but this is actually the hazmat support unit, its unit designator is HSU 440. The true hazmat unit is the marion rig the biggest of the three in the county.

Larry I believe that is County shop number 7105 the 2003 Sparkan 2dr Marion and last I heard that was in the reserve pool serving as reserve for the Hazmat rigs.

Go and sit at Southern Towers, Tim. They run several 56 boxes there every day. Thats where I always find them, at 206......

Dave, if you want to catch them your gonna have to wait for them. Mornings are usually slow or at least when i ride on the engine, and yes we do run a lot of mutual aid about 50% are in alex or arlington. Larry the reserve Hazmat unit stays at 40 when not inservice because they have enough room to store it there.
