I'm gonna post an early picture of one of our two White "trademark" trucks. This is Engine 122 in its original configuration.

Three porta-tanks used for dumping tankers - all three jet transferred into a fourth draft tank. Each tank had dual jet siphons into the draft tank. Hopewell Engine 52 ran the siphons, and Union Titusville Engine 53 was the draft/supply engine.

Hoss. I'll have to go back through my pics and find and post some of the "sister trucks" that came after ours - all with squirrel tails! All 3 of the sisters are on Mack "R" Chassis, two with tandem rear axles, and a smaller one with a single axle.

I rode officer in this thing many times. I remember driving over small trees while operating at a woods fire one night in Malvern (I was not driving) It has a interesting career so far. Originally purchased by East Whiteland (Chester County, PA)

1975 Mack R/Allied - a need was seen to replace the original tanker chassis. The company looked around and found a used Mack R chassis for sale in a front yard in Cochranville, PA. It was purchased for $21,000 in 1982-83. The chassis was originally a tractor. The fifth wheel was removed and the frame extended and the tank mounted on it by a friend of Bill Edwards over in New Jersey for $600. Additional piping was done at this time for $350. It has a 237HP Maxidyne engine with a 6-speed transmission. It was housed 8/22/92. It was sold to the Pomeroy Fire Company (Chester County, PA) in November of 1993. Pomeroy added a 12' dump valve in the rear and repainted it RW. Pomeroy sold it in 7/98 to Mountville (Lancaster County, PA). Mountville repainted in LY. They donated it to Austin (Potter County) in 07/04.
