Unit 327 served as Quint 34 until 2006 when it was also sold.
Nice photos, Eric. I was surprised that those two quints didn't last longer. Any particular reason that SMFR got rid of them so early, or were they older than I thought?
As I understand it the two quints and matching tower were all sold to off set the cost of purchasing the four 2006 Sutphens. Before the merger, 3 of the Sutphens were placed in frontline service and the fourth was used as a reserve immediately... So they didn't have a need for the E\-One's.

I was in the neighborhood of the DFD shoops the other day and captured this interesting sight... Perhaps the equivalent of a car on blocks? Be careful where you leave your Ladder parked ;-) Kinda sad to see this old rig torn appart, I think this was the old Truck 8 but 12 & 15 ran sister rigs.
This looks like it was old 15's. From what I was told, the shops are putting the rear end of the Seagrave under old TR1 and removing the all-steer so the tower can be used in the reserve fleet. Also, the department was only going to get about 1/3 of the scrap value of this truck at auction so it appears this is going to the crusher...

I didn't think they were that old. Did Sutphen give them trade-ins on the E-Ones, or were they sold outright? Also, are all 4 Sutphens in frontline service now?
It seems like a long time ago but from what I remember they sold them outright, I know the tower ended up going to Canada. They bought two of the Sutphens as quints and two as straight trucks. After the merger the two trucks were sent back to Sutphen and retro-fitted with pumps and tanks. All four are currenlty in frontline service as Tower 32, 34, 35 & 45. Here's a shot from the SMFR Annual report from that year of all four posed just after delivery A photo of the E\-One Tower that was sold, taken by Mike Block
Unit 326 and 327 are now in service in Québec Canada. One was purchased by city of acton vale and the other by the city of nicolet. Just Check on used deleveries page to see the 2 truck
