Last...

This was a 1953 or 54 American La France Ladder that Southeast VFD purchased from Amarillo if I remember. As day crew members we spent many hours refurbansing the wooden ladders and wood decking under the ladder.

Then the department sent it to the paint shop and it returned sLIMED!

Such a fun truck to drive and operate....

Equipment 84 was its radio designation.

Several departments in Harris County have units labeled as "Equipment #"

Klein - EQ37

Ponderosa - EQ62 and EQ63

Little York - EQ84

Here is a picture of EQ37 when it was running as Rescue 33 until 2009 when 33 received the new unit.

Next is a photo of Engine 22 and Engine 23. Identical except Engine 23 was a 1975 model.

Love the Ford C-8000 Pierce Suburban's. I really like how the stainless band was carried onto the doors. I have only seen one other like these. Parson's Kansas had a 1977 Ford C-8000/ Pierce Suburban finished in lime green with the same banding.

Eric,

This is a list I compiled from the SE Penna region. I presume many of these rigs are long gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
