Just curious if the chopper is from Westchester because we've had Westchester's respond here to our area here in NJ a number of times over the years being only about 30 miles west of the Tappan Zee Bridge.   Also have had Lehigh Valley come here from 90 miles away.

Life Net no longer stations a bird out of Valhalla (Westchester Medical Center). The closest is out of Stewart Airport (Newburgh, NY), and the next closest is Albany, NY. http://www.lifenetny.com/

Great photos by the way!

I would guess that Stewart is a good central location.   After all it is home to NY Air National Guard planes including some C5A's nad a growing number of flights as an alternative to Kennedy, Newark and LaGuardia.   It is only about 40 miles north of us.

On the other hand, only 5 miles from NJ's state line with both Orange County NY and Rockland County NY is Hackensack University Hospital's bird stationed at Greenwood Lake Airport in West Milford NJ, a township next to my borough, with that bird only about 10 or 12 air miles from us.  I guess that one might respond to calls in NY State now and then.
