Denver Metro Fire Apparatus

Quote:The primary engine when I started at Franktown - 1991 Autocar / Ferrara with a 1,000 gallon tank and a 1,500 gpm pump. This rig would really get up to speed on the open highways. It's now the primary district reserve and housed at Station 183.Great stuff, Eric. I remember this rig from my extrication and high angle rescue classes which were held in Franktown in 1992.

He told me that Denver has 4 more engines on order. If I had to guess, they'll be going to engines 18, 24, 25, and 29. Sounds like 18's will be opening around the first quarter of '14.
I asked the dealer if one of them was a 4 wheel drive, since the current one is. He was not sure. He did remember that Engine 32 was.
It's been said that 29's will be getting a standard DFD spec rig, no pump and roll and no 4x4...we'll see.
Interesting
Quote:Timberline Engine 5708 Thanks for sharing the Timberline rig, they have a couple of tactical tenders on order too. Most of their current fleet is up for sale. Interesting news about the four DFD pumpers, I'm sure SFD Probie is right with their destinations. |
