Quote:It's sad to see a Department like Edgewater get merged into a bigger department but it's not surprising in this day and age. Here are some shots of mine from either 1994 or 1995 of the Edgewater fleet. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day but I think the pictures came out ok, especially considering I'll never have another chance at reshooting these rigs. First up is Engine 1, anyone know the disposition of this rig?

Nice photo Dennis.  That rig was sold to Lakeside Public Safety and I'm pretty sure it's still owned by them, they're not really open about their fire operation.  Photo by Ed Vaughan

And finally their antique rig. This is first and only Pearse rig I have ever photographed.

Where did this one go also?

Thanks for the info Eric. I'm assuming the Lakeside Public Safety is for the amusement park there off of I-70?

Lakeside is quite honestly a joke. It's Colorado's smallest city at 0.2 square miles with a population of 20. It encompasses the lake, the amusement park and a handful of homes. They have a good sized metal frame building that houses the ex-Edgewater pumper and chevy stepvan. Rumor has it there are also some old DFD ALF pumpers in there, but they refuse to allow photographers in. They technically have a city fire department but not even their neighboring FD's know what training & equipment they have. I'm assuming if there ever was a fire Denver & Wheat Ridge would bardge in a take care of it.

What kind of shape is the 89 Pierce in? It looks like it is in good shape.

Speaking of possible ALF's owned by Lakeside, here's a picture I got back in 2009.  This poor old ALF 700 model was sitting out in the open, just to the west of Lakeside's main complex.  Last time I was past there last Summer, it wasn't there anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if that served Lakeside in an official function at one point.  Thanks for sharing.
