Fire Prevention uses this cubevan with an awning to support various public events.
Support vehicles

Fire Prevention inspectors use a variety of vehicles, however they are moving to Ford Fusions for all inspectors. This is typical of some of the older prevention units.
The Prevention Bureau also conducts fire investigations using 2 dedicated vehicles. These 2014 Mercedes are sporting the newer striping package for small fleet.
The other Fire Investigation unit. Shot at the Mechanical shop and was unable to be moved at that time.
The Mechanical Division is actually a part of Fleet Services and is not run by the Fire Department, however, the mechanics assigned are assigned to only look after Fire Fleet vehicles. There are 3 mechanical support units, and although not run by the FD, they are the first to have lettering identifying them as fire support. The striping on them is the city standard for public works. These are 2013 Mercedes.

LA County GIS truck.
Geographic Information Systems (a fancy name for map making) is becoming very common on large wildland fires. This truck is self contained, provided with computers, satellite internet and large printers for making maps.
