Hey all sorry I have not been posting a lot of late. Family issues are taking a toll on my photography life. Anyway today as I was coming home our neighbor was having a medical emergency. I was able to shoot a few photos of Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Rescue 5 with my iPhone and here they are. This is one of the latest Rescue Units. I was able to talk with one of the Medics for a few seconds and they pretty much like the new rescue units.

I shot this one back in January at Sunset Park here in Las Vegas. Don't know what was going on but they had a large part of the park closed off and Clark County Fire Department and the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue were there along with Las Vegas Metro Police and the Clark County Park Police.

 

As I was shooting photos I inadvertently crossed the line where I could be and where I could not be and got escorted back to behind the line. The officer was nice but did not answer any questions.

I saw this at the Boy Scout Expo at Floyd Lamb Park. they were doing a auto extraction demo using the Explorers. I went out to the park for some birdwatching and did not realize that the expo was going on so all I had with me was my big lens.

I was out last weekend trying to catch some action around Las Vegas. I ended up over by Station 8 and just down the street is the City of Las Vegas Fire Department Warehouse and Training Center. I was able to get this photo of one of the training center rigs. Sorry about the softness of the photo but I have been having issues with my Tamron 70-300 mm lens of late. Getting ready to buy a new one.

While on my way home from work on Tuesday I saw that Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and Clark County Fire Department had a structure fire on the way. Within a couple of minutes it was upgraded to a 2nd Alarm. By the time I got there most of the fire had been knocked down and they were in the process of overhaul.

 

So most of the photos are mainly rig shots and some of them are not the best. As a side note I did see one of the new Smeals and got a couple of photos.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Engine 108 Staged at the 2nd Alarm Fire on Pecos-McCloud. I could not get a drivers side shot as I did not want to risk getting a J-Walking ticket.

Last one for now is one of the five new Smeal's that the department received within the past couple of months. Two of the 5 were on scene at the fire Engine 4, and Engine 201, but I did not see 201. I asked the Engineer of Engine 4 if they liked the rig and he said yes so far but they were way different than Pierce's. I did try to get in front of the rig but was asked to step back and this is the best of the shots of Engine 4. (And these were taken with my iPhone, I left the house this morning without my camera.

Everyday on my way to and from work I drive by several fire stations here in Las Vegas. I always have my cell phone or camera handy to stop and take a photo or two if the doors are open or if the rigs are on the Apron.

 

A couple of weeks ago as I was driving past Station 17 Truck 17 was out on the Apron.
