Sad news. I met him once several years ago. VFN was an excellent publication. Rest in peace, Jerry.

Interesting note about this one....this rig was used in the Will Smith movie "Enemy of the State"...it is the rig that squashed the guy riding the bike early in the movie...

This rig then became a bar in my house. (different light bar of course.)

A Merck facility was closed (I believe in Flint River, Georgia), and as a result, one of the Merck trucks was reassigned to the Elkton facility.  The Elkton facility just received this engine in 2007.

Stonewall Plant

Engine 902

1997 Pierce Quantum

Pierce job number EA776

Can anyone with a Pierce serial number list confirm the original destination of this Quantum?

This was my dad's truck. He designed it from Pierce and flew to Appleton, WI to see the process. When the Albany, GA Flint River site was closed in 2007 the truck, since it was set up for chemicals and could not be converted, was sent to the Stonewall site with one of his co-workers when they transferred. I had hoped it would make it to the new site they were opening since so much of my childhood was on that truck! I remember the first day this truck was on site and how proud he was. Dad was the Fire chief for years. I think I have a picture somewhere of when he was in WI to see it come off the line. Smile
