is the station from the movie "Backdraft" still in operation?[/quote]

Yes the station from the movie Back Draft is still in operation ,that is if you are talking about the house that the Fictitious Engine 17 and Truck 46 used. In reality the Fire Station is Chicago Engine 65 and Truck 52 and during June of 2000 new BLS Ambulance 88 was put in service there as well.

are there any shots of Engine 65 or Truck 52 floating around??

Both have been posted on this site before I believe. E65 was using a '95 Spartan/Luverne (Ex-E82) and Truck Co. 52 was using a '00 Pierce 100' rig last I looked. T52 and T47 where the 1st Pierce aerials recieved by the CFD and have white aerials instead of the traditional grey ones.

Corrections welcome.

Engine 103 which is a 1998 HME Luverne was orginally assigned to Engine 71 on the Far North side as an ALS (Advanced Life Support) Engine until it was reassigned to Engine 103 in early 2002 as a standard (BLS) Engine at Engine 103 which is located just west of and around the corner from the 911 communications center.

I heard that when eng. 18's new house is finished that truck 2 is moving there. Is this true?

Truck 2 had been with Engine 18 from September 19,1983 until January 1st 1992.The reason for that is from Sept 19,1983 until January 1st 1992 Squad 1 had been in service at Engine 5 and when they moved out Truck 2 moved back into Engine 5's house.

Thank you, With all the new house being built there will probably be a lot of moving again.

My immediate first thought on this rig was that it looks like the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree of Fire Engines. Poor thing.
