Here is Rescue 11 - Both the county and the city fire apparatus are manned by the same fire fighters.

Since we are on the topic of Buckhannon, WV. Here is a shot of the EMS. EMS was located in the city but covered entire county. All of the units ran out of the headquarters station. To some areas of the county it took 1 hour and 10 minutes running "HOT". The 5 ambulances were parked inside station. 776 & 772 are the 4 wheel units.

Ambulance 773, 775, 774, 776 and 772 the chase car carries 771.

Chris,

Thank you for the photographs of the Seagrave ladder.

I came across this Mack squad while heading home from West Virginia just before Christmas. I was using the GPS to get me back to the Interstate and it had me on some back roads.

Nuttall, West Virginia is in Fayette County. I came across the fire station and found their Rescue 175 sitting outside and for sale. The nextdoor neighbor really wanted me to purchase it. Interesting colors for a West Virginia FD - my thanks to Jeff Mogush for the information on the prior FD who ran this squad.

I am now a good number of miles down the road from Flatwoods in Nitro, West Virginia (just outside of Charleston). It was raining when I came into Nitro. I came upon the Nitro station by accident and stopped. This squad was sitting out on the front ramp in the rain. It stopped raining, the sun appeared, and I hurriedly parked the car to get photos. Just as I finished a photo, I heard the tones dropping, and the guys suiting up to take this squad and a ALF pumper to a auto accident.

I could not hang around as I had an afternoon meeting. You will note the internet address on the side of the truck. I checked that out and could find no info regarding this truck (unless I missed it).

Anyone have the year of this squad? Now I know I could call these West Virginia FD's to get the info.....and I will if I need to. Just wanted to share the photos and see if anyone has info.

I have always enjoyed following the apparatus at Baker Heights, West Virginia. This FD is located just outside of Martinsburg and near the VA Hospital.

I am hoping someone has information on this ALF - I am assuming it was purchased used by Baker Heights.

Anyone have information where this FWD once served?

Very impressive, Mike!

Here is some rig info, from the history pages at www.morgantownfirefighters.org; 1944 ALF 500 SERIES 750 GPM, 1947 ALF 700 SERIES 750 GPM, 1955 Seagrave 100' TDA, 1956 FWD 1000GPM (a Mack B was also bought in 56).

Did you know the Baker Heights ALF sat for years just southeast of the intersection of RTs. 340 & 522 in White Post,VA.? It was removed about 7-8 years ago, and was adjacent to the prison property <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' /> <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

Also the Swab rescue at Charles Town's Citizen's FC is on a 1970 GMC ( front end style used 1969-72). Independent FC bought a similar Swab rescue in 1972 on a Dodge chassis - it was rechassied in mid-80's and served until 1990.

The origins of Baker Heights and South Berk rigs was explained to me long ago, I gotta take a memory pill...
