Engine Co. 8, an Alley Rat (often the 2nd-due engine company and, therefore, assigned to the rear alley) kept the chains on their 2006 Seagrave (S-170). They were 1st–due on the Box for a house fire on Duncan Pl. NE. February 13, 2010

Yes, at Rescue Squad 2 we have the On-Spots, but the conditions were sooo bad that we had to put on the "old" chains. Took them off yesterday.

DC Truck 2 and Truck 8 are up for viewing on Seagraves website, under new deliveries. Can't wait for Spring to get here, so I can get some nice shots of them.

And finally we get to see what silver aerial ladders and red signboards look like in the big city.... weird.

mcfire81,

Thanks for the info. Will the striker be in DC colors, and kept at St. 13 like the other?

Yes, I do believe it is a striker 1500. It is being bought by DCFD with a federal grant, so I would assume it would be painted with the DCFD Colors. It will be assigned to 13 Engine... and the June delivery date is of course tenative, so you may make it!

I have three trips planned this year. Two weeks covering the end of May/beginning of June, two weeks in mid August, and a week in early November. I am sure I will find my way into DC to shoot the new Foam rig. Now if only MWAA would complete their order on the new Striker for National and get that delivered this year, I would be happy to shoot both in the same trip but I don't think MWAA has ordered theirs yet. I just posted some info over in the Minnesota thread...it looks like Oshkosh and Pierce are jointly manufacturing the Striker now.
