Hello all,

    I know a long time ago there was a thread on compartment layouts. Can we start another thread on it? I have been recently been added to our ladder committee and would like to see some other ideas of compartment layouts.

Does R.K. aerials still exist ?

 

I know they were bought by Rosenbauer years ago, but do they still produce ladders for other manufacturers ?

 

The only manufacturer that seems to sell their ladders is Carl Thibault fire trucks in Québec, Canada.

Haven't posted in a while. I dug up these oldies from 1983. >

Any photos from the New England Fire Chief's show last weekend?

Two weeks ago while on a backpacking trip with a fellow Arcadia Firefighter, Firefighter Mike Herdman disappeared into the Ventura County wilderness while chasing after his dog that had run off, Search & Rescue crews aided by off duty Arcadia Firefighter's searched the rugged terrain, There were signs of hope when Firefighter Herdman's dog was located and sadly yesterday search crews located the body of missing Arcadia Firefighter Mike Herdman.

Call came in at 4:30 am , units from Fort Lee as well s Chesterfield also responded.  It started in an apartment connect to a automotive repair shop.  Heavy fire was showing on arrival.  Unfortunately I didn't get three then!!

At 03:00 Aurora Engine 9, Tower 6 & Battalion 3 were dispatched to an odor investigation at 20304 E Vassar Ave.  The RP was the occupant who reported smelling a smoke & chemical odor inside.  3 minutes later numerous 911 callers reported and explosion and flames from the address and a task force was dispatched.  On my way there I could see a plume and glow from several miles way. 

 

First due Engine 9 began a transitional attack, my first photos were taken as their tank water was less than 1/4 and the plug was being charged.

Just got back from a quick 3 day jaunt to the fire and arson capital of the world..Detroit. As always saw some interesting things. First few images are some apparatus shots..the tillers seem to be disappearing as they are pretty beat up...one ALF tiller was picked up for scrap while we were in town..
