Been a while since I've posted but attempted today and am having difficulties. I've attempted copying directly from the website, copying the link to word/copying from word and pasting without success. If anyone has any suggestions or help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

  Vehicle Fire-Baltimore. . . July 14, 2014
Posted by: BCFDphotoman - 07-14-2014, 10:15 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (17)

I was coming through town, just leaving the quarters of Engine 8/Truck 10 when a vehicle fire was dispatched in the 4500 block of Edmondson Avenue.

Engine 53 was first due and they, along with the rest of the Third Battalion companies, were all at the station of Engine 8 training where I just left a few minutes earlier.

I was way ahead of them as I made my way toward the scene. I saw nothing until I was a few blocks away when I spotted heavy smoke over the trees in that area.

Engine 53 was now in view behind me as we approached the scene. The fire was ahead of me in the same direction of travel and Police had the road blocked at the intersection before the vehicle. I turned there into a shopping center parking lot and stopped adjacent to the burning van and beat them to the scene.

Here's a few of the shots that followed:

  Ottawa, ON

Might be going to Ottawa for a day or two to take some pictures.

Any suggestions in terms of what stations I should visit ? What stations are easiest to take pictures at (enough room to place the trucks, etc.) ?

Thanks

  Aurora Brush Fires 7/1/14
Posted by: Guest - 07-12-2014, 10:10 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (14)

A pre-Independence Day weather hot streak and fireworks kept things steady for crews around Denver.  Aurora Firefighters were dispatched to this vegetation fire on the eastern boarder of the city.  Volunteers from neighboring Sable Altura & Bennett also responded to the 1 acre fire.

Two Houses Going, Littleton CO 7-4-14
Posted by: Guest - 07-12-2014, 10:00 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (11)

Other than some small fires the 4th was overall very quiet until just after midnight.  Littleton & South Metro Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in Highlands Ranch, near LFR Station 17.  First due E17 sized up two homes with heavy fire showing, pulled a 2 1/2 and a 2nd Alarm was transmitted.  A 1 3/4" was advanced into each house where interior and attic extension was found.  I arrived about 30 minutes into the incident and fire was still venting from pressurized tanks in the garage.

Medic 34 crew mans the 2 1/2 and knocks down flames that would occasionally extend from the garage tanks.

  4th of July Fire - Portland 7-3-2014
Posted by: Guest - 07-09-2014, 01:02 AM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (4)

Unlike Boston where the 4th is the big night, here in Portland, it's the 3rd, but we usually get bushes, grass and fireworks and rarely a house fire.

Tonight, July 3, was the exception. At 22:28, Dispatch started receiving calls for a house fire on my street, but 44 blocks away at 17036 SE Alder St. It didn't matter because I was on Truck 7 and we were 2nd due after Eng. 31.

On arrival there was heavy smoke showing and heavy artillery (fireworks) exploding.

Someone said there was heavy fire in the rear. There was.

Eng. 7 took a 2-1/2 from Eng. 31 to knock down the fire in the rear.

Then someone pulled a 1-3/4 line for backup.

B.A. found a lot of fire in the garage ceiling.

The C side, later.

My shot of the lines around Eng. 31 revealed a surprise across the street. People. We seldom see anyone at a house fire except for an occasional neighbor, but in this case the whole neighborhood was out watching - and throwing fireworks. That stopped once the Investigators arrived and started writing citations.
