First new build Aerialscope Michigan on order
Posted by: Guest - 10-28-2016, 09:05 AM - Forum: Apparatus Scuttlebut - Replies (9)

Guess this could have gone in the department area instead, so if the moderator sees fit please feel free to move it there.

The Coldwater, MI fire department has officially placed an order for a Seagrave Marauder II Custom 4-Door stainless steel truck with a 95 foot Aerialscope at a cost of $1,185,806. Delivery is scheduled for Oct/Nov 2017, this replaces a 1992 ALF Aerochief.

They also placed an order for Seagrave Marauder II pumper which will have a 1750 gpm pump, carry 750 gallons of water, it's supposed to be a very close clone of their 2010 Seagrave pumper. The cost is $573,103.00 with delivery in June 2017, it will replace a 1990 engine I think a ALF Century 2000.

Coldwater Fire runs a F250 skid unit grass rig, Ford F450 with 14' Walk in Command Post and 1999 ALF Eagle rescue pumper in a very attractive Sand over red paint scheme.

I think their old ALF Snorkel was sold off a few years ago.

As some of you may have heard Portland Fire and Rescue photographer (and fellow Firepics member) Dick Harris passed away a few weeks ago.

Dick was a good friend and mentor.

I put together a gallery of photos of Dick on my website, mostly of him doing what he did best, shooting fires.

  Rig info / serial help.
Posted by: ACPD227 - 10-10-2016, 07:46 PM - Forum: Apparatus Photos - No Replies

Hi guys im working on a project, on a local rig. Does anyone have info on this rig i think its about a 1974 IH / Pierce / Sponco ladder. It was new to New Haven Indiana and ran as Ladder 49 until the late 1990s. It was then bought by Woodburn Indiana and sent to starr tank Co. and made into a tanker.

Thanks to Ray Easterly for letting me use his photo.

http://www.indianafiretrucks.com/Station...ionId=1309        pic of it as a tanker.

  Media coverage of Buff

So I know the tradition for firefighters if you make it in the media you owe pie to the crew, but what is the rule if a fellow firebuff makes it in the paper? does he owe the entire board pie?
