  FIREHOUSES OF NEVADA
Posted by: engine98 - 11-10-2013, 08:48 PM - Forum: Fire Station Photos - Replies (94)

Clark County Volunteer Fire Department Mount Charleston station. This station was slated to close a couple of years back. A large expansion of the ski area allowed it to remain open.

Chicago Church Fire 11/9/13 Schubert & Kostner
Posted by: Guest - 11-09-2013, 07:16 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (23)

Around 0300 I took in the box at Schubert and Kostner...fire in a traditional style church. By the time I arrived the fire appeared to be completely under control with little to see from the outside. I thought it was pretty neat to see 2 aerials up, and members working on venting the steeply pitched roof. I don't believe I have ever seen any kind of roof work like this on a big church before. It appeared that out of my view there was a roof ladder in use as you can see the hooks, but it was on the opposite side of where I was shooting. It also looked that the large stained glass window had been vented, I'm thinking by the aerial ladder, but not sure. I could see members inside working streams up into the ceiling roof area, so it appears this was a well advanced fire. This could very easily have been a "water carnival".... It's not often you see a good outcome in a fire like this one. If anyone who was working can provide some details that would be great.....
Another perk for me was finally getting a picture of the squad spare lettered up as Squad 3 from the show Chicago Fire.....

I am brainstorming ideas for some fund raising and am entertaining the idea of having a flea market day for new and used fire equipment / memoriabilia. I am looking for anyone who has items they want to sell or anyone who can pass on my info to anyone who does. This is also gonna be open to departments who have old equipment they want to sell. Also , any department that has lots of excess department shirts/hats/ etc that they want to sell we need these vendors also. Email me at BGreen@Leitersburgfire.org

Does anyone know if old records or photos from deliveries of this company still exist?  Is there any "historian" of this company which made fire equipment into the 1930's.  Anyone with info or leads please PM me.  Thanks  Mike

Head-On Crash with Entrapment & Medevac - Garrison, MD 11/3/13
Posted by: Guest - 11-04-2013, 12:48 AM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (10)

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2013, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company Squad 322 and Tower 323 responded to a crash with entrapment on Garrison Forest Road near the Garrison Forest School (Rescue Box 19-4). BCoFD Engine 19 had previously been alerted for a report of a crash with a vehicle smoking, upon arrival they reported a two-vehicle head-on crash involving a Mercury Mountaineer SUV and a Honda Element SUV with multiple patients and one victim trapped and requested additional fire department resources. PVFC firefighters stabilized the Mercury Mountaineer and worked to extricate the driver, who was airlifted via Maryland State Police Trooper 5 to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center downtown. Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Company Engine 312 handled the landing zone at the adjacent Garrison Forest School soccer field. Two additional patients were transported by BCoFD medic units to area hospitals. The crash is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team.

Live Fire Training - Tyringham, MA
Posted by: hoss - 11-03-2013, 08:33 PM - Forum: All Other Photos - Replies (7)

Tyringham, MA is what I call a mirco town (pop. 350) but they do have a dedicated fire dept. They hosted Lee and Otis for some live fire on an acquired building on 11/02/13.

"Flintstone" house burns - Lanesborough, MA 10/31/13
Posted by: hoss - 11-03-2013, 08:24 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (6)

A season residence that from what I am told looked like a house from Flintstones was lost to fire. The house that was mostly made of foam brought crews from Lanesborough, Pittsfield and Cheshire. Exposures were a big concern as the flaming foam was blowing through the air. Luckily it was raining, unlike earlier in the week when area fds were chasing a ton of brush fires.

  Great Barrington Working Fire 10/30/13
Posted by: hoss - 11-03-2013, 08:18 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (2)

3 Story mixed use building, huge place for this area had a fire on the top floor. Call came in as a fire alarm chief & cops found the fire and the rest is history. Red Cross helped out the occupants of 2-3 residential units.
