We have a wildfire that has been buring for four days between Las Vegas and Pahrump and it is forcing the evacuation of homes.

I have not been able to get any pictures but it is extreamly smokey and the mountians are extreamly hazey to the west.

On the way back from my recent trip up to the Enchanted Circle area of NM I got lucky and found staff at two  stations I have been trying to catch up with for a while now. Once we encountered the rain up in the Circle it seemed to follow us for the rest of the day.

Someone asked if anyone had photos from this years Md.State Firemans Convention. because they couldn't make it this year. Well be glad you didn't waste your time or Gas, this is the 1st time i have been in 3 years due to my recent health problems. Let me tell ya I thought it was a joke for a Convention Paarde, 1st they moved the Parade route since the last time i was there, and 2nd the turnout/participation was terrible. myself and a few others did manage to get a few shots after the Parade. So if you guys or anyone else have Photos from this years Convention/Parade feel free to add them.

Few shots from a 2nd alarm at 197 Allen Street. Fire on the second floor of an occupied 4 story apartment building. Called in by a Crime Scene Tech from the Buffalo Police who was driving by and spotted smoke. One room burnout on the 2nd floor, minor extension to 3rd floor. Sorry no smoke or flames, it was knocked down quick

It is with an extremely heavy heart, that today, 19 firefighters from the granite mountain hotshots, from the prescott, az fire department died in the line of duty. The hotshot crew was operating at the yarnell hill fire, less than 45 minutes from they're home unit, when thunderstorm downdrafts and extreme fire behavior over ran the position they were in. I knew each and every one of these firefighters personally, and it has rocked, and saddened this entire town. Please pray for the familys, the fire department and the community and everyone involved in this tragic event....

I didn't see a thread for Washington, DC (MPD) Police units ...

2 years worth of hard work and our new Ladder Tower is ordered to replace our current Scope. Pre-con in a few weeks. After going through so many mfg and the bidding Rosenbauer has been award by the town to build a 88' midmount ladder tower quint. The toughest thing was to try to fit the same foot print that our Scope has, do to not being able to modify the firehouse at all. Here is a quick basic look of what it will look like and it will be retaining the black over red paint scheme and gold leafing that our scope has.



Quick spec:

7-man cab

Cummins ISX 15

1500 gpm pump

250 gt

Signal joystick in bucket and at turntable and radio remote control


10 lbs. worth of stuff in the 5 lbs. bag.
