Parker, CO House Fire w/ Cat Rescue 3/29/16
Posted by: Guest - 03-29-2016, 08:49 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (9)

At 00:21 South Metro Firefighters were dispatched to a confirmed residential structure fire.  First arriving Battalion Chief 41 assumed command, declared an offensive strategy and Engine 41 advanced a 2 1/2" for fire attack.  The attached 3 car garage was fully engulfed and extending up the alpha side over the peak.  After a quick knock down crews made entry and discovered no fire extension into the living area and all searches proved negative.  One of the three people in the house when the fire occurred was evaluated for smoke inhalation on scene and one cat was rescued by Tower 45.

  When you become the story
Posted by: upstatefire31 - 03-28-2016, 04:00 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (2)

I just need to vent...lol   .Im still angry about this..........Watervliet Fire Dept. responded to this crash around 4:15am this morning. No injuries but the driver was arrested. Its an ongoing investigation cuz its believed that the truck( Ladder racks behind mine) was stolen. My neighbors SUV that you see was parked 3 spoits away from my truck.....thats how fast that guy was going. Not only were our 2 cars hit but my girlfriends Kia soul that was parked infront of me had her back window blown out by the things that came flying out of the stolen truck. I guess the owner was a scrapper so everything that was in his truck went flying down the street. DPW had to be called in to clean up the street. WHAT A DAY!

  West Virginia
Posted by: fighttheenemy666 - 03-28-2016, 12:30 PM - Forum: Apparatus Photos - Replies (53)

I couldn't find an open topic for West Virginia apparatus, thought I would start one.  Feel free to contribute, this is not just stuff I've got.

My dad and I visited Mineral County last summer.  This is a beautiful area with a lot of nice equipment.

Starting off with the Keyser Fire Department, Company 33.  This is the apparatus at their main station.

Engine 33-13 is an unusual 1998 ALF Eagle/1999 KME, 1500/750, with KME #4104.  One of two built (other is in Roxburo, NC).

Brush 33-80 is a 2000 Ford F-350/CET, 100/200.

  Harrisonburg Rescue Squad, Virginia
Posted by: fighttheenemy666 - 03-25-2016, 04:08 PM - Forum: Apparatus Photos - Replies (15)

The Harrisonburg Rescue Squad (known simply as "Rescue 40") is an all-volunteer company that provides EMS and heavy rescue services to the City of Harrisonburg (home of James Madison University) and neighboring Rockingham County, Virginia.

Rescue 40 is an extremely impressive and busy organization, running upwards of 8,000 calls a year (over 20 a day) with 100% volunteer staffing.  My dad and I had a great visit last summer where several members rolled out the red carpet.

Squad 41 has received a lot of press, it is a very impressive 2015 Pierce Velocity with a 250/250/10.  Equipped with a light tower, 6 bottle cascade system, awning, and tie-off anchors (built into the squad body), this thing is a beast.

  Ex FDNY Tower ladder scrapped
Posted by: ACPD227 - 03-24-2016, 08:51 AM - Forum: Apparatus Photos - Replies (5)

I took a class this week with the Auburn Indiana Fire Chief teaching. I asked him how they like their new Sutphen Quint. He said it was working great. I asked who bought the old Ex FDNY tower ladder. He said they listed it for sale and no takers. He said he drove it to the local scrap yard and sold it for scrap $7,000.00. Here is a pic of the tower ladder.

  Littleton, CO House Fire 3/22/16
Posted by: Guest - 03-23-2016, 08:44 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (22)

On Tuesday evening Littleton & South Metro Firefighters were dispatched to a confirmed residential structure fire at 6331 S. Lakeview Street.  LFR Control 1 was receiving multiple 911 calls, including reports of a 5 year old child trapped inside.  A large plume of black smoke was widely visible as units were responding.  First arriving Battalion Chief 1 and Ladder 12 found heavy fire showing from the charlie and alpha sides and the roof.  A transitional attack was used to quickly darken down the main body of fire and then primary searches began.

Just after the knock down...

  $24 Million Fire in Portland - 2-29 to 3-4, 2016
Posted by: Guest - 03-23-2016, 01:33 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (8)

Sorry for the delay. I have been under the weather.

On Monday, Feb. 29, at 22:28, a box was transmitted for a fire at the Sundance Marina at 570 NE Tomahawk Island Drive. A few minutes after Chief Heesaker arrived he transmitted a 2nd alarm at 22:37. When the 75,000 sq. ft. metal building was heavily involved, a 3rd alarm was transmitted at 22:53. The building stored about 350 boats, stacked 4 high. Since the danger of collapse was high,

no firefighters were allowed inside the building. After 40 minutes, with little progress, a 4th alarm was transmitted. A large showroom that was connected to the main structure was only slightly damaged.

Companies were on the scene for several days extinguishing hot spots.

FDNY Leases Several New Ambulances To Fill Transcare Void
Posted by: TacSupport1 - 03-22-2016, 07:42 PM - Forum: Apparatus Scuttlebut - No Replies

FDNY has leased several new ambulances to fill the voids left by Transcare. The order was to get new ambulances ASAP. They appear to be Ford F-350 Superdutys with a Wheeled Coach module, and not FDNY spec. It's unknown the exact total that will be delivered. They are intended to be used until Wheeled Coach can begin delivery of a large order for FDNY-spec ambulances.

New pierce tower for Mount Horeb
Posted by: ACPD227 - 03-15-2016, 09:40 AM - Forum: Apparatus Scuttlebut - Replies (5)

I had seen on Mount Horeb, WI Facebook page that they have a new Pierce Quantum 100 Tower 1500-500 on order and the cab just came out of paint. Maybe an FDIC appearance contender?
