I had the great opportunity of meeting some Firepixers in person and captured some incredible sights over the weekend.  Here are some of the highlights from my experience.  

 

My group arrived on Friday 7/3 and our second Box Alarm was this dwelling at Glenwood & Brock. 

   

At 0857 Eng. 31 was dispatched to 847 SE 169th Drive for bushes on fire, not extending to a house.

Dispatch received more calls, one reporting two houses on fire, so a box was transmitted bringing 3 more engines, a truck and a Rescue.

Truck 2 at the Training Center, added themselves to the box.bringing some of the trainees for hands on training.

Since the fire was just over the line in Gresham, some Gresham apparatus was part of the assignment.

Portland Dispatch transmitted a box for a house fire at 401B NE 61st Ave. Eng. 19 arrived and reported a 2-story house fully involved.

Apparently, a grass fire extended to the building and the entire side was burning and extending into the attic.

Temperature was around 95.


 



 



 



 

Fire Investigator

230 Alabama St approx 2230 hrs. Companies arrived to heavy fire in an abandoned 2-1/2 story wood frame. Companies initially attempted an interior attack, but were quickly withdrawn and ladder pipes and master streams were put into operation. According to neighborhood residents, this is the third fire in this building in the past month.  I waited on taking this in, so the pics aren't much.

I'm not saying anything one way or the other here.  Most of the people referenced are members of this site.

Bill Stehman a longtime firebuff in the northeast passed away this morning. Bill loved parades and photographing fire apparatus.

I haven't seen this topic before. Fire trucks that have found a new life beyond fire fighting. Feel free to add to images, correct info or add new information.

 

This was in a Flag Day parade in Boston.
