9-5-2015 2nd Alarm Store Front Church Las Vegas NV
Posted by: nozzleman - 09-06-2015, 01:09 AM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (22)

At around 6:54 pm this evening I heard Las Vegas and Clark County Units get paged out for a working structure fire at 5000 W. Oakey Blvd. It was a store front church. The first engine on the scene, Engine 6 which came from just down the street called a working fire and the first in Battalion Chief struck a 2 Alarm due to the type of Structure and access issues.

Units on the Scene are as follows:

ENGINES 5, 6, 44, 10, 3, 22, 15, AND 12

TRUCKS 22, 6, AND 43

RESCUES 6 AND 5

EMS 1

CBRNE 3

AIR RESOURSE 1

BATTALIONS 4, 6, 10, AND 1

By the time I got there which was only about 10 minutes after it was marked as a working fire and then a 2nd Alarm they pretty much alread had knock down. I could smell the smoke but there wasn't any header, etc.

Just a couple pictures for now and I will post more tommorow.

09/04/15 Bridgeport, CT Factory Fire 1 Stratford Ave
Posted by: signal29 - 09-05-2015, 08:19 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (9)

09/04/15 Bridgeport, CT - Firefighters responded to this location just after noon time and found numerous small fire throughout the structure. They were back and hour later to find one section of the factory complex with heavy fire showing. Companies made an interior push but had to back out due to water pressure issues. The fire grew in intensity and a defensive operation was started. Six engines, two trucks and the fireboat fought the fire for an hour an a half tow bring it under control. This complex has been the scene of numerous fires over the years.

8-28-2015 Clark County Fire Recruit Training
Posted by: nozzleman - 08-28-2015, 09:39 PM - Forum: All Other Photos - Replies (17)

I stopped by the Clark County Fire Department Training Center today in hopes of being able to get some updated pictures of the Training Center Rigs and other equipment that was in the shops area. But they have a recruit class going throught the training center so I was not allowed inside the fence area due to safety reasons. I did ask if I could take pictures of the training and was told I could as long as I stayed outside of the Fence.

While I was taking pictures the Capt in charge came over to talk to me and I explained what I was doing and he said to enjoy myself and I gave a plug for Firepics like I always do. Sorry about the fense in the pictures but that was as close as I could get

They had several sections going and this one they were doing Ladder training,

Hey guys,

Just curious if someone can tell me a little history on this rig.   Now in service with New Waterford, Nova Scotia in Cape Breton.  Part of the Cape Breton Regional Fire Service.  The crew seems to think it came from Annapolis Maryland, and was put in service a couple years ago.  Unknown who the rig was purchased from, and I was unable to find a serial # on the plate.

These are the fires that never make the headlines.

Just after 2 AM, Engine 19 was dispatched to a fire alarm at the Harrison Park School, formerly named the Binnsmeade School. There was nothing showing when they arrived, but Vinnie, the driver, noticed a window that seemed obscured by smoke so they called for a box.

Filling out the assignment was E11, 7, 25, T7, T25, R19, SQ1, C3 & C4.

When 19 gained entry they found a fire in a doorway between two classrooms that had extended to the walls and ceilings.

They had laid a 2-1/2 through the building, so they were able to get a quick knockdown and confine the fire to the two rooms.

On August 11, 2003, the same school was the scene of a 4-alarm fire.
