  Eastway Emergency Vehicles
Posted by: Guest - 11-10-2015, 07:07 PM - Forum: Manufacturer Scuttlebut - Replies (2)

This morning the locks were changed at the Eastway plant in Carleton Place, Ontario.  No word yet on any of the rigs in for repairs or any of the new ones under construction. Not much else other than they are closed.

Eastway has been producing emergency vehicles for a number of years, mostly in Ontario and New York State, but has sold others around Canada and the USA.

  11/08/15 Bridgeport, CT Condo fire
Posted by: signal29 - 11-09-2015, 09:07 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (7)

11/08/15 Bridgeport, CT - East side companies were tied up on another box with a trash fire in an apartment complex. The responding companies could see smoke in the sky in the opposite as they turned out. Another box was transmitted for this job bringing companies from the other side of the city. The 1st Battalion arrived reporting a two and a half story, middle of the row, apartment complex with heavy fire throughout. Since companies had a longer response times, the fire gained considerable headway. Multiple lines were stretched and searches proved negative. Trucks opened up to find fire extending into the attic and into exposure 2a and 4a. ed as companies continued with the interi An additional engine and truck were special called. Firefighters were hampered venting due to a slate roof. Companies were eventually removed in order to allow the tower ladder to knockdown the heavy fire venting through the roof. The fire burned three units in this complex. No one was injured as a result of the blaze. Multiple people were left homeless. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

  3-Alarms in a row of vacants. 11-09-15, Brooklyn-Baltimore, Md.
Posted by: BCFDphotoman - 11-09-2015, 07:51 PM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - Replies (14)

Shortly after midnight this morning 3 alarms were struck out for 5 vacant dwellings/stores in the Brooklyn section of south Baltimore.

Within minutes of arrival heavy fire was in several floors of two of the structures and some trouble with water supply in the area led to a quick working fire followed by a second and third alarm for more manpower and companies to supplement the low water supply. A collapse in the rear made for exterior operations and units were on the scene into the early morning hours until it was placed under control. Rotating units were on the scene today while the houses were torn down.

Scene in the rear as I arrived:

On Saturday, the Utica, IL used a condemned house a couple blocks away from me for some live fire training.  The pictures are all cell phone shot so I apologize in advance for the quality Smile

First up is the new engine 1211 that replaces a white Mack that's been in service for years

AUTO ACCIDENT LAS VEGAS BLVD, LAS VEGAS, NV 11-7-2015
Posted by: nozzleman - 11-09-2015, 11:33 AM - Forum: Fire Scene Photos - No Replies

I finally broke down last week and purchased a new camera. I was out on Saturday, November 11, 2015 working with it and getting to know the camera in front of the Mirage Hotel and Casino when I heard a load crash and turned around and saw a Shuttle Bus and a Cab had collided.

Thank god there were no injuries. And you can tell from the photo's that it was the Cab Drivers fault.

This is what I saw as I turned around and looked in the direction of the noise.

I was just watching tv and something caught my eye on the new Bridgestone Tire commercial.  They have a command truck on a Pierce chassis and I'm curious if anyone knows its origin.  Here is a link to the full video https://youtu.be/MDWmjvAb1ds

  Scene lights
Posted by: Juice - 11-05-2015, 12:47 AM - Forum: Photo Requests-NO IMAGES IN THIS FORUM! - No Replies

Does anyone have photos of Tarrytown Tower Ladder 78's scene lights in the up position, or another truck with the same ones? This is the only truck I've ever seen with them, and know virtually nothing about them.

Thanks,

Trav!
