This afternoon, the Arnprior Fire Department was paged out for a structure fire in the downtown core on Daniel Street, for a fire reported at a welding shop.  The department has just placed its new pumper in service, a 2015 Spartan Metrostar/Arnprior Fire Trucks 1050 gpm, and this was its first fire, perhaps its first call!

The fire was reported around 12:30 PM but I was unable to attend until 3PM, when the bulk of the fire had already been knocked down. Exposure buildings were evacuated and at least one suffered smoke damage.

California - Northern and Central small cities
Posted by: Image7801 - 10-13-2015, 11:51 AM - Forum: Apparatus Photos - Replies (21)

I didn't find any forum topic about small California cities north of metro L.A., so I thought I'd start one.

Monterey is located about an hour and a half southwest of San Jose, on the coast.  They operate from six stations with six engines, one truck, one rescue, a fireboat and two ARFF rigs.

Monterey Engine 2 (6412) is a 2002 Spartan Gladiator SS/Hi-Tech 1500/500/30b

Forgive me, but I have searched for photos of the compartments in the new LAFD KME Engines. Does anyone have any that they would be willing to share?

LAS VEGAS FIRE AND RESCUE GOING WITH SMEAL
Posted by: nozzleman - 10-10-2015, 09:03 PM - Forum: Apparatus Scuttlebut - Replies (9)

I was out at some of the stations today for the open houses and I heard from several firefighters that Las Vegas Fire and Rescue is not happy with the new Pierce Engines and that they are going with Smeal for the next round of rigs. One of the issues that the engineers were talking about is the fact that the rigs do not have the power to get out of their own way. Does anybody with contacts at Smeal have any information on if this is true or not?
