As Most of you have probably seen from my Photos of night fires I really could use some help. I have a Cannon EOS Rebel XTI. and I love going to fires and all, but for the life of me cannot get the same great quality photos as most of you. I have seen photos where you can literally count the eyebrow hair on a firefighter even when he is wearing his mask, its insane. Well anyway back to the question. what are the best settings for night fires I know it varies by how much light there is on the scene, but lets start out with at the beginning when there is not much for scene lights set up or street lights around. what would be the best settings to go with. Every now and then I get lucky but I just returned from a fire I took like 75 photos, I deleted about 50 of them, it was that bad. any help is appreciated thanks.

Hello all,
My department is putting together a spec committee for a new areial tower. Admin is looking for a rearmount but we have issues with height requirements. They also want to stick with Pierce and i'm looking at suggesting the Dash CF Chassis. Seeing the demo straight stick and the drawings I think it would be a good platform for our tower. I know it has been out for a little over 2 years and i'm looking for pros and cons, maintanence issues and bugs/other issues of the chassis. I know there have been a few delivered and appreciate any help that you all can provide.
Thanks,
Droop(AKA Branden)

Hello all,
I am one of two photographers that have been put in charge of the photography for this years Pennsylvania State Fireman's Parade in West Chester on September 28. As some of you may know the photo area's in the past years have been shut down by judges and such. This year it will not happen, the posed photography area will be in the registration lot at 931 South Matlack Street in West Chester. I ask that if you are coming to the parade and would like to get posed photos that you allow myself to pose the rigs and shoot quickly so we can keep everything moving along. The registration begins at 6:30AM and goes until 11PM. I hope to see you all there!

Guys
The two depts I work for have the old style sealed beam headlights. Any recommendations for better quality replacement headlights? I know there are options out there for HID, but what I've seen, they are very expensive.
Thanks!
Drew
