Is the shoot still going on even if it's 100 degrees like they keep saying?

[/quot

Take the heat like a man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guest

Be careful Kurt the news said at the shoot will be the annoying Sam Gnat. Just one is worse then 100 flies. Lol love ya Sam

Guest

LOL you guys are goofy! I'll be fine in the heat. It's those other people who always complain about it though.

Guest

I'll trade you all the 100 degree's for our 108 to 110 today.
Big differnce between Las Vegas and Baltimore.

Las Vegas 11:23 AM

91 Degrees

Humidity: 14%

Baltimore same time but three hours difference 2:23 PM

101 Degrees

Humidity 44%

With 101 and 44% and higher it is a sweat box.
How about some concern for the brothers/sisters who have to work in the heat, why bother them?

That is true I keep forgetting about the Humidity.
Uh Houston....

92.5 degrees + 65% humidity = Heat index of 111 degrees (actually low for us)

Like this every year.

Just saying...

I Surrender, I Surrender hope you all are staying cool and safe. I would rather have the humid weather than the dry heat. Have a good weekend all.

Memphis area is about the same Larry. Heat index over 110 for numerous days in a row. Typical end of July and August for us <img src='http://www.firepics.net/groupboards/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />. Everybody be safe.

Yeah, but you guys get it every year so you are as used to it as one can probably get, we get hot/humid weather too, but don't get weather this extreme very often!
Every year or not, its still hot and humid. And the body can only adjust or acclimate so much...

But I do feel for everyone experiencing the heat wave, its not easy in our line of work no matter what state your in...

Amen brother, everyone stay hydrated and safe!!!
Trying to move this to the top in case there is anything new...
Only new things in The City are Medics. A Reasigned Safety Officer Car and a New Hazmat 3 vehicle still being worked on.
It's been a while since the Ambulance designations have been brought up. I was wondering what the difference between the 40, 50 and 60 series ambulance or "Med" units are. I notice that Baltimore City currently runs with Med units 41 through 46, Med unit 51 and Med units 61 through 66. Where are they located and why are there six 40 series and six 60 series Med units but only one 50 series Med unit.

Are there still Paramedic Engines on the Baltimore city fire department. What Engines are the Paramedic Engines?

Thanks!

What are the reserve unit numbers?

Firepost, the 40 and 60 series units are used as critical alert or ready reserve medics when the city is severely short on the 24 firstline medics. They are staffed by several specific engine or truck companies at the stations they are located throughout the city. And the 50 series are used as bariatric medics. Just recently there were four others added, 52, 53, 54, & 55.

Here are the following locations of the medics:
