Sam,

Thanks for posting them old Seagrave pics. I can remember going to Bmore and hearing the Seagraves before you saw them. Great shots of the ALF's also.

In June 73 Engine 1, became Rescue 1 and a new Engine 1 was organized at the quarters of Truck 11 using Hose 3s rig. [/quote]

Ted, I know that Hose 3 became the "new" Engine 1 in 1973, but didn't Rescue 1 begin to be called "Rescue 1" around 1970?

Mike you are correct. Engine 1 became Rescue 1 on 30 June 71. Also on that date the hose companies (1, 2, 3 and 5) were disbanded. Same date, Engine 1 was reorganized using Hose 3s pumper and Engine 59 organized, both units being placed in active service. An item I don't remember but stated in Bill Murrays book is that the new Engine 1 was placed in service at the Paca St quarters along with Rescue 1, relocating to Truck 11 on 27 June 1973, just before the opening of Steadman in September 1973.

Question on post #1194.... Red trim on Tractor & Orange trim on trailer... Was this a swap around or one new?

Guest

I think it may be the way the light was hitting it. Or they may have used a darker orange as a touch up paint. 20 Truck did receive a repaint right after it went into reserve status. At the evd of orange and white era lots of rigs were faded mismatched paint obvious touch ups with a brush etc.
How about some Engine Companys.
