Units in the 1900 block of T St. NW, August 12, 2010: TAU-2, TAU-1, Engine 9, Foam Unit 1. The day was exceptionally busy city-wide. This particular incident was the first time I have ever seen both TAU’s and the Foam Unit all put into service on the same incident.

The Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Fire Department responded Foam 337 from Ronald Reagan International Airport on mutual-aid. It is a 1998 Oshkosh T3000. Directly behind it alongside the stone wall where the sign reads Hilton Ballroom is where President Reagan was shot.

Great shots Kevin. I am assuming the Striker isn't in service yet. I was hoping it might be as I will be in town later this week for two weeks.

Great pictures Chief. I listened to the incident from home, but figured everything was already blocked off for picture access. Once I heard the Williard being evacuated I figured the brothers had some intense flames heading in its direction.

Correct. There used to be a TAU3, but when it was deadlined it was never replaced.



Also, the Striker has not been delivered yet.

I noticed today while reading the DC spec used to purchase the last bunch of Seagrave pumpers, that it calls for 64" from the ground to the hose bed and 40" from the back step, however the drawings show 55" and 31" from the step, which in comparing to pictures looks to be about where they ended up. Anyone know whats up with that?
Well i finnaly did it, I made a photo trip through Washington DC, with my good buddy "Slippery Sam", I can not tell you how friendly the Men & Women of the DC Fire Dept. were to us. I do plan on making a trip back in the near future to get some of the stuff missed on this trip. here's what we shot during our 1 day trip.

1st up Medic 26, Eng 26 & Trk 15 were on a house fire.
Next stop Station 12 "Edgewood"

Engine/Water Supply 51
Battalion Fire Chief 1
